Shows In Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

At the Wildlife Currumbin Sanctuary, there are a lot of interesting and exciting events, shows and other activities going on regularly, which you can not only enjoy, but also witness to learn new facts and trivia about the native Australian birds and animals at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. From special animal feeding shows, to interactive keeper programs, these shows are typically held all through the day at specific timings.

Lorikeet Feeding

Held every day at 08:00 a.m. and 04:00 p.m. the Lorikeet Feeding show is one of the most popular shows at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Gold Coast. It is with this show that you can enjoy getting a chance to feed several wild lorikeets all by yourself. These are small colourful birds that love human interaction, and are sure to fly all the way to perch on your hands or shoulders or even your head. While the show is free to watch, you will need a gold coin donation for feeding the birds.

Pelican & EEL Show

Amongst the more underrated shows at the sanctuary is the Pelican and EEL Show, wherein you can enjoy watching or even feeding pelicans and eels, with the help of an expert. Held every day at 10:00 a.m. this feeding program shows the intelligence of pelicans and giant eels, as they remember their feeding times each day and come along the banks of the sanctuary right when the feeders arrive with their food. You can also gain information about these species from their feeders during this show.

Blinky Bill’s Rookie Ranger Station

When visiting the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, make sure to attend their new show, called Blinky Bill’s Rookie Ranger Station, which is especially perfect for children of all ages. This is an interactive, fast-paced show, which involves a lot of singing and dancing. It also offers children a fun way to learn about conservation and its methods. Held every day at 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 12:30 p.m., the show is also great if you wish to learn new facts about wildlife species here, whilst also learning how to reduce, reuse and recycle waste and conserve nature.

Wild Skies

One of the best shows at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is that of Wild Skies, which is a free flight bird show, which introduces audiences to the amazing world of flight, while also giving them an opportunity to learn about the different species of Australian native birds. It is with this show that you can witness the largest bird of prey in Australia, which is the wedge-tailed eagle, along with other birds like the Australian pelican, colourful parrots, lorikeets and other birds of prey.
